Massage Therapists

Eileen Paddick LCSP Assoc.

Eileen trained at, and graduated from The Northern Institute of Massage, Bury in 2000. In 2003 she joined the team at the Ferndown Chiropractic Clinic as Remedial Massage Therapist, where her treatments compliment the work of the Chiropractors and aid the well-being of their patients. Treatment takes the form of deep soft tissue massage which helps to re-balance muscles injured through wear and tear, sports or work related injury, and postural problems, to name but a few.

Remedial massage is based on the philosophy that the body always wants to be well and so encourages natural healing.

Eileen has massaged many grateful runners at two London marathons on behalf of the charity "Children with Leukemia" and found it an exhausting but an extremely rewarding experience.

Eileen also offers Indian Head Massage and treats patients with Hopi Ear Candles which can relieve sinus problems as well as relieving compacted wax.

Eileen enjoys keeping fit by walking, swimming and cycling.

Acupuncturist

Robert Lock

Robert, a family man who lives in deepest Dorset has been part of our team for a number of years and compliments the work of the chiropractors by addressing health issues that cannot be treated with chiropractic care.

Robert uses traditional acupuncture to treat digestive problems, anxiety states, asthma, circulatory problems and high blood pressure.

Some of Robert's work in this field has helped people with muscular skeletal disorders and can help people with, for example, lower back or neck problems that are not responsive to chiropractic care.

Hypnotherapy, Counselling & Psychotherapy

Starting in the New Year with a new addition to their practice, Ferndown Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinic are pleased to announce the inclusion of a professional Hypnotherapy, Counselling and Psychotherapy by Joy Wood BA (hon) PGCE LHS MBACP MCS(Acc) .

Joy has over 20 years experience working therapeutically within the education sector. Since qualifying as a clinical hypnotherapist, counsellor and psychotherapist she has worked extensively in pain management and control, enabling people to cope with both acute and chronic symptoms, addressing physical, emotional and psychological distress which the illness or injury can cause. Anxiety, stress and depression can often result from having to deal with everyday family, work and social life whilst being in physical discomfort.

Joy says,'Hypnotherapy is fantastic for relaxation and regaining control over physical pain, along with couselling and psychotherapy to help address deeper emotional issues which may contribute to the pain. These interventions, used either on their own or together, help to rebuild confidence and motivation to improve quality of life and ,if appropriate, restore fitness to resume sporting activities. Being able to integrate different therapies means that personalised treatment plans can be tailored to individual needs which have proven to be particularly successful.
